February 2008

Once again, a significant amount of time has passed since the last update – sorry! These last several months have been fun-filled and busy, as usual. Elisabeth continues to grow and mature into an extremely adorable little girl. She will be four years old in a couple of months – hard to believe! She is Mommy’s little helper and continues to love singing and dancing, especially ballet. Kate is so cute! She is now 1 ½ years old, and she tries to say so many new words. Just today she said “Bye-bye” for the first time and she tried to say “Hi”! She loves her big sister and wants to do everything Elisabeth does. They fight of course, but that’s natural, right? There is always something new and exciting with them – they certainly keep us on our toes!

Melinda is now a Pampered Chef consultant and her business is starting to take off! She enjoys doing the shows, and Daddy gets alone time with the girls, which has been fun! I’ve been pretty busy with work, but that’s been normal lately. I’d rather have it that way than sitting there twiddling my thumbs! We also continue to be involved at the church – Melinda in helping with the nurseries, singing in the choir, and as a greeter; Geoff as a deacon and computer/audio operator (sometimes I help with nurseries, too). It’s been fun – Lord willing we can continue to be as involved in the future.

Until next time, God Bless!

The Ring’s (Geoff, Melinda, Elisabeth, and Kate)

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always. Pray continually. Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

I deeply apologize for the length of time between Blog updates. I will try to provide more regular updates in the future! The last few months have been a hectic (but fun) time for the Ring family. Here is a list of just a few things that have happened lately:

1. Kate turned one year old and is now walking everywhere (yes, and trying to climb stairs, too – we have to keep both eyes on her!)

2. Elisabeth is now 3 ½ years old and absolutely adorable. She loves to sing and act out her favorite movies. Her current favorite is The Wizard of Oz, but she loves pretty much all the princesses, too! She also likes backhoes, bulldozers, and excavators, too – go figure!

3. My brother Justin got engaged! He and his fiancé plan to get married next summer in Michigan. We are so excited for him!

4. My grandparents (Grandma and Grandpa Ring) had their 60th anniversary party in New Hampshire. It was great to see the family. While in New Hampshire, Melinda had an opportunity to go to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park. While there, she just happened to witness a no-hitter by a rookie (as well as 10 runs of offense by the Sox)!

5. And last but not least, we moved to a new house! We still live in Northern VA and we are actually only about 3 miles from our old house. We love it here – especially the community! There is a pool and tennis courts within a 3-minute walk of our house and the people we’ve met are really friendly.

Merry Christmas! Wow - a lot has happened these past few months. Elisabeth is now 2 1/2 years old, and Katherine is almost 4 months old! We recently cut our Christmas tree in Leesburg, VA with Matt, Becky, Sammie and Daniel Brown. Geoff's sister Denise and brother Justin came over to help decorate and play with the kids. It was a lot of fun! Both kids are at an extremely cute age right now. Elisabeth is talking like crazy in complete sentences with an imageination like you wouldn't believe, and Kate has the cutest smiles almost whenever you look at her! We are excitedly anticipating the season in which we celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is amazing that the God who created the universe would humble himself to come to earth as a helpless baby so he could eventually die on the cross to pay for our sins. We totally don't deserve it, but I guess that's why it is called "Amazing Grace"! Here are some recent pictures of our family. Enjoy!
